Lachance rides to success in PASS
Series
"By
Ken Waltz - Sports Editor"
UNITY (Nov 8):
Chuck Lachance of Cushing has been racing for many years and his success on the track continued this season.
Lachance and his LAst CHANCE racing team of Adam Lachance, Lucas Benner, Caleb Lachance and Terry Downes have
been competing on the Pro All Stars Series, a Pro Stock touring series that races in New England and Eastern Canada.
Unity Raceway - 10/29/05
"Long John 150
"
Starting
the race outside the top 10. Chuck raced up into the top 10.
The track quickly turned into a crash fest with caution after
caution. The 38 car was able to avoid all the major wrecks on the
track. Chuck made it up to third place and slip back to 4th.
when he disappeared off the track. The ignition wire had come
off. With all the Malay going happening on the track, the LAst
Chance Team decide to call it a night. Johnny Clark, who was
one of four cars still left on the track, won the race.
Speedway 95 - 9/10/05
"Community
Pharmacies 100"

Racing in the
Community
Pharmacies 100
at
Speedway 95 this past weekend, turned into unfortunate luck for the
LAst Chance Race Team. Leading the heat race
with less than a lap to go the second place car got the 38 car
loose. So instead of starting just outside the top 10. Chuck started
near the back. Midway through the race coming out of turn 3.
The 14 car got loose pushing the 38 car and the 49 car around
backwards straight into the outside wall. Which completely destroyed
the 38 car. Chuck, estimated the damages of at least $5000 if not
more, and doesn't expect to be able to compete in the Beech Ridge
300 later this month.
Oxford Plains Speedway 7/31/05
"Bank North 250"
Chuck started the day off
drawing the Pole Position in the 3rd qualifying heat.
Some of the other drivers that competed in the heat were, Dale Shaw,
Corey Williams, Kirk Thibeau, Jeremie Whorff, Tracy Gordon, and
NASCAR Car Champion Matt Kenseth. As soon as the green flag dropped,
the yellow caution flag came out shortly afterwards. On the restart
the 38 Fuller Automall car took off dominating the heat within 10
laps. Chuck had a 5 car length lead on the rest of the field,
by the time Dale Shaw, in the 68 car, gained some ground on the 38
car it was over, Chuck had won the heat and gave himself a 3rd
place starting position, for the “Bank North 250”.
Only cheers could
be heard from the fans when Chuck, was introduced during driver
introduction. Chuck stayed in the top 10 for most of the race
until an accident coming out of turn 2 occurred. Chuck was
able to check up in time to avoid the wreck in front of him.
Unfortunately the car behind wasn’t able to and spun the 38 car
around. With major damage to the passenger side of the car,
Chuck pitted under caution where the “Last Chance Pit Crew” went to
work. Though they were able to get the 38 car back and racing they
had already gone a lap down. Chuck finished the race in 17th
place.
